From those splinters came some of the most influential ideas in Western philosophy: the Logos, the river you cannot step into twice, the bow held together by tension, the cosmos as an ever-living fire — and the three words that close his book: character is fate. In this series, we read the fragments of Heraclitus in the public domain translation by John Burnet (Early Greek Philosophy, 1920), grouped by theme, with commentary and analysis for each section. No prior philosophy background needed — just the willingness to be told you might be one of the sleepwalkers.
